The Social Welfare Department

KIHD's Social Welfare Department exists for patients who are financially weak or cannot afford treatment. Diagnosis and treatment of heart disease is expensive — welfare support, funded by Zakat, Atiyat and donations, makes it possible for every deserving patient.

100%

Admitted patients — welfare can cover approximately the full cost; the patient pays for pharmacy only.

50–75%

Outpatients — diagnostic procedure costs covered, depending on the patient's economic status.

How a patient applies

Step 1

Meet the Social Welfare Officer before starting any medical service.

Step 2

Complete the Istehqaq (eligibility) form with your attendant.

Step 3

The department assesses need and covers charges under its rules — consultation, investigation, diagnostics and procedures.

Subsidised services include ECHO, ETT, Thallium Scan, lab tests, angiography — and treatments including angioplasty, permanent pacemaker (PPM) implantation, bypass surgery and ESMR.

Why your Zakat matters here

Heart disease treatment is among the most expensive in medicine. Every year more patients arrive than funds allow — your Zakat, Sadqa and Atiyat directly fund angiographies, pacemakers and surgeries for patients who would otherwise go without.

Waiver of charges

Where costs rise beyond a patient's capacity, the welfare programme can additionally absorb 15–25% of total charges. Needy patients are supported without any discrimination.

Your donation is the only hope of life for a needy heart patient.

For deposits and receipts, meet the Social Welfare Officer at KIHD, or use the UBL accounts above. May every contribution be rewarded.
